Home > Current Steam > 'HGS' Class on Eastern Railway Easter Railway took the lead in reviving old and forgotten steam locomotives in 2000 with the restoration of an old HGS class of loco. The loco was restored in record time by the Howrah shed staff of ER and put at the head of a special train from Howrah to Bandel Jn. The run was very well received by one and all and a longer intenerary covering the Buddhist circuit of Bihar & West Bengal has been planned for the future.
