The C class locomotives of Bengal Nagpur Railway (BNR) Narrow Gauge system were somewhat smaller than the contemporary 2-8-2 locomotives used on the railway. C3 class No. 0035 built by North British in 1935 is seen at the head of a goods train at Ranchi.

B Class 4-6-0 No. 257 of Bengal and North Western Railway (BNWR) was built by North British in 1906.

CS1 class 4-6-2 No. 118 was superheated version of the previous C1-C5 class. Built by North British in 1915 to work the express trains of Bengal Nagpur Railway's narrow gauge system.

Bengal Nagpur Railway's (BNR) 2-6-2 non superheated locomotives worked exculsively on the Raipur - Dhamtari Railway and later came to be known as RDR class engines. Later engines in this series were fitted with Stirling superheaters and Lentz valve gear.

Locomotive number 9 of Raipur Dhamtari Railway(RDR) of Bengal Nagpur Railway(BNR) built by Naysmyth, Wilson & Co. in 1929 was fitted with Stirling superheaters and Lentz Poppet valve gear. Earlier examples were without superheating. Note the headlight that was missing in the non-superheated example seen earlier.
