Y2 class locomotive No. 343 2-8-4T was built by North British in 1907 especially for banking trains on the GIP ghats. One such example is preserved at National Rail Museum at Delhi.


B Class 2-6-0s of Bengal Nagpur Railway (BNR) were compound locomotives built by Neilson and Co. and were the only locomotives with this wheel arrangement ever used on this railway.


Goods train waiting at outer signal of Adra station. AE (Developments) saloon can be seen next to engine. HSM class locomotive (a modified successor of predecessor HS class) 2-8-0 No. 700 built by Armstrong Whitworth in 1924 is seen heading the train. Note the size of boiler on these locos.


Viceroy's special near Howrah on the Bengal Nagpur Railway. GS class locomotive (4-6-0) No. 416 built by Robert Stephenson and Co. in 1920 is hauling a load of 600 tons single handedly.


Bombay Baroda and Central India Railway's(BBCIR) Peshawar Mail is hauled by an H class 4-6-0 superheated locomotive. Note the kink in six wheeled bogied Diner Car, the second one in lead.
