Test conducted by Bengal Nagpur Railway(BNR) to see if they could run the IRS class XE locomotives in the restricted clearances of their tunnels. Note that short finger projection is the size of the engine, middle one is the clearance required at restricted speed and the long one is the clearance required at unrestricted speed. Where there are only two fingers, the wooden frame is the size of the engine. Test is conducted by NO. 606, a 2-8-0 HX class locomotive built by North British in 1920. Originally this engine was ordered by Great Indian Peninsular Railway, it was later diverted to BNR.

`Dufferin' was an E1 class Atlantic (4-4-2) locomotive No. 917 built by North British for Great Indian Peninsular Railway in 1907.
